This is a huge weekend for professional wrestling and wrestling fans. WWE will have two events – NXT vs. NXT UK’s Worlds Collide and WWE’s Clash at the Castle while AEW has taken over Chicago all week leading up to their tentpole event, All Out.

The WWE have been hyping up this event so much that you would think it’s one of their tentpole PPVs. It is the 1st time WWE has had a PPV in three decades so the company is looking to pull out all of the stops. Fans will be particularly interested as creative has been under the control of Triple H since Vince McMahon’s retirement on July 25. The buildup to the Clash has been good as Triple H has injected new life into both RAW & SmackDown. Here is the current lineup for the PPV:

  • Undisputed WWE Universal Championship Match – Roman Reigns (c) vs. Drew McIntyre
  • SmackDown Women’s Championship Match – Liv Morgan (c) vs. Shayna Baszler
  • Intercontinental Championship Match – Walter (c) vs. Sheamus
  • Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss & Asuka vs. Bayley, Dakota Kai & IYO SKY
  • Matt Riddle vs. Seth “Freakin” Rollins
  • Edge & Rey Mysterio vs. The Judgment Day

I’m sure more matches will be added by the end of tonight’s SmackDown but the card as it stands right now is pretty strong. Here’s what I’m looking forward to:

  • Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre: The main event of the PPV will see Reigns put his undisputed title on the line against the Scottish Warrior. The crowd will definitely be on McIntyre’s side and will want to see him dethrone The Head of the Table. Do I believe they will actually take the belt off of Roman? Probably not… but don’t be surprised if some shenanigans are at play.
  • Matt Riddle vs. Seth “Freakin'” Rollins: This is probably the best storyline in WWE right now. These two have been at each other’s throats since before SummerSlam and things got real with an interview that raised plenty of eyebrows after Rollins mentioned the real life divorce of Matt Riddle:

Speechless. Absolutely speechless right now… #WWERaw

  • Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss & Asuka vs. Bayley, IO SKY & Dakota Kai: Ever since Bayley’s return at SummerSlam and introducing a new alliance with Io & Dakota, the women’s roster has received a big shot in the arm. This 6-woman tag match will be fun to watch as Bayley is taking dead aim at Bianca Belair’s RAW women’s title while Io & Dakota still figure to be very much in the women’s tag team title picture. I wouldn’t be surprised if Bayley’s team won to continue putting the pressure on the rest of the roster.
  • Walter vs. Sheamus: This is not going to be pretty. This match is going to be ugly(and I mean that in the best way possible). This match is going to be brutal and violent. This is a bit of dream match for me to see these two heavyweights do battle. That the Intercontinental Title is on the line makes this match even bigger. To make the crowd happy, I can definitely see Sheamus upsetting Walter.

AEW All Out

AEW’s tentpole event has come together but not without some controversy. AEW gave away its main event for free two weeks ago when Jon Moxley squashed CM Punk to unify the AEW World Championship. CM Punk sold his foot injury but showed up this past Wednesday to step up to Moxley’s open challenge for the title at All Out. There were a number of ways Tony Khan could’ve gotten to this main event but the path he chose was a confusing one. That said… this still is a very stacked card. Here is the card as it stands right now:

Zero Hour Pre-Show —

  • AEW All-Atlantic Championship: PAC (c) vs. Kip Sabian
  • FTW Championship: Hook (c) vs. Angelo Parker
  • Eddie Kingston vs. Tomohiro Ishii

All Out Main Card —

  • AEW World Championship: Jon Moxley (c) vs. CM Punk
  • AEW World Trios Championship finals: Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks vs. TBD
  • AEW Interim Women’s World Championship: Toni Storm vs. Britt Baker vs. Jamie Hayter vs. Hikaru Shida
  • TBS Championship: Jade Cargill (c) vs. Athena
  • AEW World Tag Team Championship: Swerve In Our Glory (c) vs. The Acclaimed
  • Bryan Danielson vs. Chris Jericho
  • Sting, Darby Allin & Miro vs. Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews & Brody King
  • Jungle Boy vs. Christian Cage
  • FTR & Wardlow vs. Jay Lethal & Motor City Machine Guns
  • Casino Ladder Match for a future AEW World title shot: Claudio Castagnoli vs. Wheeler Yuta vs. Penta Oscuro vs. Rey Fenix vs. Rush vs. Andrade El Idolo vs. Dante Martin vs. TBA
  • Ricky Starks vs. Powerhouse Hobbs

Here’s what I’m looking forward to:

  • Bryan Danielson vs. Chris Jericho: This has the potential to steal the night as two of the all-time greats clash as the feud between the Blackpool Combat Club battles against the Jericho Appreciation Society. This match has the potential of being an instant classic.
  • Ricky Starks vs. Powerhouse Hobbs: Ever since Hobbs turned on Starks, both men have really elevated their games. Hobbs looks meaner and more vicious while Starks has looked every bit the star that some believe he can end up being. These two men will look to tear the house down.
  • Toni Storm vs. Britt Baker vs. Jamie Hayter vs. Hikaru Shida: Much like the 6-woman tag match at WWE’s Clash at the Castle, the women in AEW will look to go all out to claim the interim championship. All four women should shine in this match. Jamie Hayter is a star in the making while Shida is as good as they come. The safe money is on Britt Baker while the sentimental favorite will more than likely be Toni Storm. The best storyline will be Storm claiming the title to start the breakup of ThunderStorm.
  • Jon Moxley vs. CM Punk: Punk is the hometown hero and whether he’s a heel or face, he is beloved in Chicago. Potential backstage drama saw Moxley unify the titles in Cleveland two weeks ago as some believed Punk wouldn’t want to drop the title in his hometown and Moxley was legit tired of being called an interim champion. Add in Punk selling his foot injury and one wonders if CM Punk is actually 100%. Moxley deserves a long run with the title as he has put the company on his back all summer… but this is Chicago. If Punk loses the fans will riot. I believe Punk walks out of All Out as AEW Champion.
