Tonight begins the final tournament in the remarkable career of Serena Williams. The 23-time Grand Slam Champion is set to ‘evolve’ from tennis following The U.S. Open. I don’t think it needs to be said but I’ll say it anyway – Serena Williams is the GOAT. That’s right – she is the greatest of all time. Not just women’s tennis but rather the greatest tennis player of all-time. Period. Full stop. End conversation.

23 Grand Slam Titles. 14 Doubles Grand Slam Titles. 2 Mixed Doubles Grand Slam Titles. 73 Career Titles. 4 Olympic Gold Medals.

She is The Standard. The Blueprint. The Prototype. The Greatest.

To Serena Williams, we simply say: Thank you.

MENaces To Society

I usually don’t dabble in reality TV and gossip but these two events were too good to pass up even for me. First up is Nick Cannon who recently announced his 9th and 10th child are on the way. Nick is the living embodiment of a petri dish given he has impregnated 5 women… all on purpose. The 41 year old actor/TV host/rapper-in-his-mind-only apparently has no plans of strapping up. When God said ‘Be fruitful and multiply this was Nick Cannon’s response:

And then… there’s Ray J. This hasn’t been the best summer for William Ray Norwood, Jr. First there was the whole fiasco with Verzuz which he blamed on Casamigos for not being able to hit notes on his own song, One Wish:

That led to his big sister Brandy, and pretty much everyone else, putting the Wait A Minute singer on blast. Well if that wasn’t bad enough a clip from the new season of Love & Hip-Hop went viral with this ridiculousness from Brandy’s little brother:

Let’s not allow other women’s wearing of his wife’s clothes distract us from the fact that this beta male actually had the unmitigated gall to say he didn’t cheat because, “strippers and prostitutes don’t count.” Strippers & prostitutes don’t count?! Where they doing that at??? Ray J is a menace, a walking petri dish and a clown.

• Today would’ve been the King of Pop’s 64th birthday. In honor of his birthday here are a couple of my favorites from MJ:

• Speaking of politicians… Chicago could use a new mayor and Illinois could use a new governor – just not the two men who are running now.
• Megan Thee Stallion is set to make her Marvel MCU debut in an upcoming episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Alrighty then…
• Jay-Z’s verse on DJ Khaled’s God Did is more of a victory lap for Jay’s status as quite possibly the greatest rapper of all-time. I would like another album… but I’ll settle for these fire features he’s been putting in as of late.
