The year: 1992. The event: Game 1 of the 1992 NBA Finals. The place: Chicago Stadium.

The reigning NBA champion Chicago Bulls faced off against the Portland Trailblazers for the ‘chip. This matchup was two years in the making and the most interesting matchup was between Clyde Drexler & Michael Jordan.

There were those who felt Drexler was just as good as Jordan. Of course Michael Jordan took exception to that:

Jordan would go on to drill a then record 6 3-pointers while scoring an NBA Finals record 35 points… in the 1st half. Jordan finished with 39pts, 11assts, 3rebs & 2stls while hitting on 60% of his 3-pointers.

The Bulls would go on win their 2nd NBA championship in 6 games.
