Every once in a while you’ll get a coach or an athlete that will go on a tremendous rant and when it happens it is GOLD.
Bobby Knight’s rants were legendary. Herman Edwards’ “We Play To Win The Game” rant was one of the all-time greats. Jim Mora’s “Playoffs” rant will live on forever as will Allen Iverson’s “We Talking About Practice” rant.
One of the great NFL coaching rants happened on this day in 2006. The Arizona Cardinals played the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football and the Cards had a 20 point lead late in the 3rd quarter and forced the Bears into 6 turnovers. What happened next was incredible and surreal as the Bears scored 3 defensive & special teams TDs to help them shock the Cards 24-23.
The post game comments from the Cardinals head coach, the late, great Dennis Green, can only be described as… EPIC.
You had to be there…
