Dave Chappelle is the GOAT

This past Friday Dave Chappelle released his latest Netflix special on their Netflix Is A Joke YouTube page. The special is entitled 8:46 and chronicles Dave’s thoughts on George Floyd, racism in America and those who still continue to remain ignorant to what’s going on today.

I didn’t need this special to confirm what I already know but I’ll say it anyway – Dave Chappelle is the GOAT. At this point the title comedian is too minuscule for Dave. He is a truth teller and more importantly a voice for this time.

This video contains profanity so you’ve been warned:

This Is Why We’re Angry

As George Floyd was laid to rest this past week, the nation is still reeling from his brutal murder and the debate for police reform rages on. And while protests continue into its 20th day ANOTHER unarmed black man was murdered in Atlanta this past Friday. It is yet another reminder even in the midst of protests & calls for reform that there is a systemic problem with policing in this country.

Rayshard Brooks was asleep in his car on Friday evening when he was approached by two police officers. What happened next is unfathomable:

Rayshard simply wanted to get home without being in violation. He wanted to return home to his family. His daughter was celebrating her 8th birthday the next day. Now she was must remember her birthday going forward as the same time her father was murdered.

I don’t want to hear from people saying why didn’t he just comply. I don’t want to hear about him resisting. As Dave Chappelle said in “8:46”, I don’t give a f*ck what this man did. Rayshard Brooks DID NOT DESERVE TO DIE. Don’t speak to me about complying with the police when this type of b.s. is done with arrests with people who aren’t black:

This is why we kneel. This is why we march. This is why we protest. This is why we are tired. This is why we are sick of systemic racism. This is why we are f*cking angry. WE. ARE. DONE.

Cry Me A River

In the sports world, NASCAR took a step in the right direction by banning the Confederate Flag at their events and in approximately .000002 seconds the confederate apologists lost their collective minds. Here is NASCAR’s statement:

Well one driver felt that NASCAR’s response to being more inclusive is a bridge too far for him. Ray Ciccarelli, a driver that no one knew who never placed better than 33rd in 32 races, decided to retire because of this.

He wasn’t the only person/entity that was upset. Graphic arts design company Beam Designs expressed their anger as well.

The result of their response was for Jimmy Johnson to terminate his relationship with them. Life moves at you fast.

The NFL & US Women’s National Soccer team have both released statements saying that it is not mandatory for their players to stand during the national anthem and expressed their support for the players’ freedom of speech to protest. Of course this didn’t sit well with the MAGA crowd and the Occupant of the White House.

I have a few words for people who are against peaceful protests in the hopes of making things better in this country: CRY ME A RIVER.

And Finally

Today is the Occupant of the White House’s date of birth. Here are some pics to commemorate this day:
