Is This Your President???
Oh… how far we have fallen as a society with Donald Trump as president. I keep wondering when we will hit rock bottom and yet what I’ve come to discover is this: we have no bottom. Just this week alone the current occupant of the White House praised Henry Ford’s bloodlines, admitted to taking the controversial and unproven drug hydroxychloroquine as a preventative measure against COVID-19, said he won’t close the country if a second wave of COVID-19 hits and then there are these two gems:
Let’s pretend the first video clip didn’t happen or was some anomaly. The second clip clearly shows a deranged man who apparently has NEVER read the constitution. The 10th amendment clearly states he can’t force the governors to reopen churches.
This is where we are as a country. We have a small-minded man who fancies himself to be a dictator. God help us….
Is This Your (Future) President???
While Agent Orange commands the big stage as president, the presumptive Democratic nominee, Joe Biden, had an equally horrific take when he sat down with The Breakfast Club’s Charlamagne Tha God to discuss the black vote. During this interview there was a moment when the conversation came to who black people should vote for and Ol’ Uncle Joe gave us this:
#YouAintBlack is now trending on Twitter. This was not the time to make a joke, Joe Biden. Whether you realize it or not the reason you’re about to face the current occupier of the Oval Office is DIRECTLY due the support of black voters. With this country’s economy flatlining by the day, tens of millions of people without jobs and a virus that has buckled this country to its knees now is DEFINITELY not the time for jokes. This is Joe Biden’s problem: he is not who the Democrats need to defeat the current occupant. He is a somewhat sanitized version of Hillary Clinton. I said months ago there wasn’t one person in the party that had a shot in beating Trump. You’re seeing it now. I don’t care that Joe Biden is now apologizing for his “joke”. The black vote is not to be taken for granted. Gone are the days of “well it’s the lesser of two evils”. NO! Evil is evil… and it’s high time the Democrats own up to their bulls*t because there’s plenty of it. I’ll just let comedian Ryan Davis say what I’m feeling:
Too Soon To Reopen?
Parts of the country have plans to reopen next month despite the number of cases reaching 1.5 million and nearly 100,000 dead. The major sports leagues plan on reopening by July with restaurants, movie theaters and malls itching to reopen soon. While I like many other Americans want to get back to normal the question we need to ask is – what is normal? Will normal be wearing our masks in public like it is done in Japan? How do restaurants, malls and movie theaters practice social distancing? What about beaches? How will distancing be policed? We still have no mass testing and there are millions of people who are asymptomatic who are carriers and could potentially infect others. It seems plenty of people want to “reopen”. Should we though? The summer may bring a slowdown but it won’t facilitate the eradication of this virus. The last pandemic this country had last nearly 2 years.
Whatever this sham of a government decides the main goal is to remain safe. If that means some people continue to practice shelter at home then that’s what they should do. If you decide to go out please consider the safety of yourself and others.
Final Thoughts
- The ESPN/Netflix docu-series The Last Dance ended on Sunday with the final two episodes. It was a great trip down memory while also providing some nuggets inside the mind of Michael Jordan. Even after the docu-series went off the air I found myself wanting more.
- Speaking of ESPN documentaries I’m really excited about the 30-For-30 featuring Bruce Lee. Tom Brady? Not in the least….
- While the current occupant of the White House wants churches to reopen now, not all of them will. I give you Exhibit A:
