Tim Tebow’s Clueless Proselytizing

Tim Tebow was a guest on ESPN’s 1st Take on Friday and he spoke about California’s new Fair Pay To Play Act.  Here’s what Tebow had to say:

Though I can respect & entertain differing opinions, this ain’t it chief.  Tebow comes across as a booster for a system that pimps out young kids while they reap BILLIONS of dollars.  You have coaches that make millions a year, schools that make tens of millions a year and the NCAA makes BILLIONS of dollars a year and Tebow wants to talk about authenticity & realness?! He wants to talk authenticity when coaches get to leave if he gets the school in trouble but if an athlete gets $50 from a booster then that athlete loses his/her eligibility?! GTFOH.

Tebow also came from a bit of money so he didn’t have to worry about playing to provide for his family.  He, unlike the vast majority of college athletes, didn’t have to worry about money for a pizza or going to a movie.  He didn’t have to decide whether to buy food for a couple of days or call home to his family.  Tebow had it good but most of his teammates didn’t.  Most college athletes don’t come from money — far from it.  Maybe he should talk to them first to get the other side before resorting to preaching.

James Harden’s “Woe Is Me” Tour Continues

With the NBA season set to begin in a little over a month most players are focused on the upcoming season.  The Rockets’ James Harden still seems to be stuck on what happened last season.  Here’s a quote from Harden from a recent GQ article:

I’m now at the point where James Harden just needs to STFU.  This quote is why he is not a leader and a champion.  Harden is a 10 year veteran who still doesn’t understand, or care, that basketball is more than just putting up gaudy offensive numbers.  Giannis Antetokounmpo won the MVP because he was the BEST player on both end of the floor.  He led his Bucks to the best record in the East and came within 2 games of getting to the Finals. He also ranked in the top 5 in BOTH key offensive & defensive metrics.

The real issue with Harden is he is a petulant child who suffers from a “me first” complex.  Maybe Harden should focus his energy on being a better defensive player & leader, actually put a team on his back in the playoffs and win a championship.  As long as he continues to have this mentality, he will remain ringless — and all of the scrutiny that will come his way is well deserved.

Would You Do This?

I would do this.  The video is The First Cliff Walk by Tissot in Grindelwald, Switzerland. I would be scared as hell while doing it but as I’m getting older I’m trying to conquer fears and the fear of heights is one of them.  I went to the top of the Eiffel Tower replica in Vegas some years ago that was nearly 550 feet in the air.  I also got on The High Roller Observation Wheel in Vegas last year.  That was also over 550 feet in the air.  This walkway looks to be WAY higher than 500 feet.  That said… I’m all in!!

Some Final Thoughts

  • The Democrats had another debate this past Thursday… and I remain unimpressed.
  • Saudi Arabia shut down half its oil output after drone strikes. Can we say $3.50 gas by Monday?
  • The Bears’ offense was an absolute mess on last Thursday.  Get it together, Bears!!
  • Dave Chappelle’s Sticks & Stones Netflix special is the best comedy special maybe of all time.  It was fearless, unapologetic & needed in today’s times. Chappelle is now the GOAT comedian.  Yeah… I said it.
  • People… can we stop being stans?!?! Be an individual.
  • The Notorious B.I.G’s Ready To Die came out 25 years ago and it remains a great piece of art & music.
  • Love the ones you’re with.  Hug them a little tighter. Say I love you to them.  Life is short.  Don’t let today go by without giving roses to the people you care about while they’re still here.
