It’s here – the Super Bowl of pro wrestling. WrestleMania is here and it’s quite possible the most stacked card in WWE history.
Here are my predictions for the matches:
WWE Cruiserweight Title – Cedric Alexander vs. Mustafa Ali
Who Will Win: Cedric Alexander
It’s been a long time coming for Alexander who has had to bide his time in the CW division. He will shine as the new CW Champion.
5th Annual Andre The Giant Battle Royal
Who Will Win: Elias. Final Four participants: Elias, Dolph Ziggler, Baron Corbin, Chad Gable.
Unless someone like Big Cass or Jeff Hardy makes a surprise return it appears that Elias is the one who will survive to keep his push going.
1st Ever WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal
Who Will Win: Becky Lynch. Final Four participants: Becky Lynch, Bayley, Sasha Banks, Ruby Riott
Sasha Banks & Bayley’s issues will explode and cost them both. Becky is in need of a signature win & this is the type of win she needs to get back in the SD Women’s Title hunt.
RAW Tag Team Championship – The BAR(c) vs Braun Strowman & unnamed partner
Who Will Will: Strowman & Partner
Sheamus & Cesaro’s run as the tag team champs will come to an end as they meet those hands from Strowman. Just who is Braun’s mystery partner? Perhaps a returning Big Cass but my guess is The Big Show.
U.S. Championship(Fatal Four Way) – Randy Orton(c) vs. Bobby Roode vs. Rusev vs. Jinder Mahal
Who Will Win: Randy Orton
The US title needs a shot in the arm & a big name to carry the title the way John Cena did during his 2015 run. Orton will be that guy to the title back to relevance.
RAW Women’s Championship – Alexa Bliss(c) vs. Nia Jax
Who Will Win: Nia Jax
The Irresistible Force will finally get her revenge on Alexa Bliss and claim the RAW women’s title. This effective, if somewhat controversial storyline of shaming & betrayal will have a satisfying end as Bliss will get her comeuppance.
SmackDown Tag Team Championship(Triple Threat) – The Usos(c) vs. The New Day vs. The Bludgeon Brothers
Who Will Win: The Bludgeon Brothers
Ever since reintroduced as the Bludgeon Brothers, Harper & Rowan have laid waste to everyone in their path. Their path of destruction will culminate with them holding championship gold in a match that could be a show stealer.
Intercontinental Championship(Triple Threat) – The Miz(c) vs. Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor
Who Will Win: The Miz
The Miz has made the IC Title the MUST have belt in WWE with his stellar mic work. Seth Rollins has been on fire this year & Balor’s in-ring chemistry with Seth has all the makings of a stellar match. Look for The Miz to weasel his way to a win & officially have the longest reign of any IC champion.
Tag-Team Match – Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn vs. Daniel Bryan & Shane McMahon
Who Will Win: Owens & Zayn
Owens & Zayn’s jobs are on the line as they have one last chance to return to SD Live after beating Shane into a pulp & being fired by GM Daniel Bryan. No matter the outcome the clear highlight will Bryan’s return to the ring after a 3 year absence.
Mixed Tag Team Match – Stephanie McMahon & Triple H vs. Ronda Rousey & Kurt Angle
Who Will Win: Rousey & Angle
Ronda Rousey will make her WWE debut on the grandest stage and it will be a victorious one. Look for Triple H & Angle to do the heavy lifting as Stephanie wrestles sparingly & Rousey is super green still. Some fun spots & the image of Stephanie getting her comeuppance will be enough.
Universal Championship – Brock Lesnar(c) vs. Roman Reigns
Who Will Win: Roman Reigns
This match has been 3 years in the making since Seth Rollins “ruined” their match by cashing in his Money in the Bank opportunity in 2015. No such thing will happen & expect to see a violent affair that will cement Roman as The Guy.
SmackDown Women’s Championship – Charlotte Flair(c) vs. Asuka
Who Will Win: Charlotte Flair
All good things must come to an end & that includes undefeated streaks. As impressive as Asuka’s undefeated streak has been, a win by Charlotte will solidify her status as arguably the greatest women’s wrestler of all-time. This match will end up being the match of the night and a sure fire MOTY candidate.
WWE Championship – AJ Styles(c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
Who Will Win: Shinsuke Nakamura
This dream match will be nothing short of greatness. Styles will bring out the best of Shinsuke and these two will put on an electric affair that should be the main event. The King of Strong Style will outlast AJ & claim the sport’s biggest prize.
